President John Dramani Mahama will, today, September 21, host a high-level Global Reset Dialogue with world leaders on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The dialogue, being held on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, forms part of the Accra Reset initiative championed by President Mahama to address structural challenges confronting the global development system.
The initiative seeks to rebuild development cooperation around practical sovereignty, stronger execution capacity and shared prosperity for the Global South and beyond.

The idea was born from a conversation between President Mahama and former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, following the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting decline in development financing, particularly for vaccine manufacturing.
President Obasanjo had proposed a new strategy through which experienced African leaders could collectively examine the continent’s challenges and develop sustainable solutions.
That vision evolved into the Accra Reset Convening, positioning Ghana as a platform for dialogue on reforming global development cooperation.
The latest Global Reset Dialogue therefore provides another opportunity for leaders to examine the changing global development landscape and consider practical pathways towards a more sustainable and responsive system.
