Four-time Stand-Up Comedian of the Year Lekzy Decomic is set to bring veterans and contemporary names in Ghanaian comedy together at the UPSA Auditorium on November 7 for Lekzy Unleashed: The Godfather’s Edition.
The comedian appeared on GTV’s Breakfast Show on Thursday to discuss the event, which he said was designed to celebrate those who paved the way for comedy in Ghana.
He said the idea came after he recently met one of the industry’s pioneers and noticed how age had taken its toll on him. He felt that many people had not experienced the comedian’s greatness, while others who had might have missed the opportunity to see him perform on stage.
“Why don’t I do a show that will celebrate all these people that I consider as godfathers in the industry? And that is exactly what I’m about to do,” he said.
The line-up includes Honourable Fritz Baffour, KSM, Tommy Annan Forson, Mister B, Koku Mensa, DKB, David Oscar, David Aglah, Percy Brome-Pong, General Ntatea, Clemento Suarez, Parrotmouth, Jeffrey Nortey, Chemical and James Brown, among others.

Lekzy Decomic said he started the annual show after the COVID-19 pandemic to give his fans more time to enjoy his performances on stage.
After five years, he rebranded the event as Lexi Unleashed, with each edition expected to feature a different theme.
He said he chose the name because he was tired of having to explain the titles of his previous shows to sponsors.
“Sarkodie will not go through that because he just tells you Rapperholic and you know that every year there is a Rapperholic,” he said.
