The Ghana Football Association has appointed former international Godwin Attram as an assistant coach of the Black Stars, replacing Desmond Ofei in a move designed to sharpen focus across the national teams. Attram will work under head coach Carlos Queiroz as Ghana prepares for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, while Ofei shifts his full attention to the U23 Black Meteors.

A former attacking midfielder with European experience at PSV Eindhoven and Silkeborg IF, Attram later transitioned into coaching, leading Accra Great Olympics and serving in various youth national team roles. The GFA cites his playing pedigree, familiarity with international demands and track record in player development as key reasons for the appointment.
Immediate agenda
The reshuffle comes just days before Ghana’s away qualifier against Ivory Coast (24 September) and the home fixture versus The Gambia (29 September). Attram is expected to help Queiroz with tactical preparation, squad integration and match planning as the Black Stars seek a strong start to their AFCON 2027 campaign.
