The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the commencement of nominations for its branch elections across all constituencies in the country as part of its internal restructuring process.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Secretariat and signed by Deputy General Secretary for Administration Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, the party said nominations will open on 2 May and close on 16 May 2026.
The exercise will cover all 40,647 branches within the party’s 276 constituencies nationwide.
According to the party, nomination forms will be made available online and can be accessed either individually or in bulk. Each form will cost GH₵20, payable through designated digital payment channels.
The NDC further indicated that branch-level elections will be held from 20 May to 30 June 2026.

It urged members to actively participate in the process, describing it as key to strengthening the party’s grassroots structures ahead of future political engagements.
The statement also outlined resignation requirements for members holding public office who intend to contest constituency, regional, or national positions within the party.
Those affected include ministers and deputy ministers of state, chief executive officers, managing directors and their deputies, as well as metropolitan, municipal, and district chief executives.
The party said the affected officials are required to resign within set timelines—30 April, 14 May, and 7 June 2026, depending on their category.
The NDC called on members to conduct the process in a manner guided by unity, discipline, and fairness.
