The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has commenced the registration of traders and other individuals affected by the fire that gutted the Odawna Rubber Market in Accra.
The exercise is aimed at establishing the total number of victims and building a verified database to guide possible relief and support interventions for those affected by the incident.
Officials overseeing the process say the data being collected will be cross-checked with records from the traders’ association to ensure that only genuine victims are captured.
They noted that the exercise has recorded minor challenges, including attempts by some individuals to register more than once, leading to stricter verification procedures.
