Okuapemman and Mount Sinai Senior High Schools at Akropong have been closed down by the Eastern Regional Security Council following violent student clashes on Wednesday that led to the destruction of property through burning and injuries to some students.
Four out of six students of Okuapemman SHS, who sustained injuries in the 2am Wednesday incident, have since been treated and discharged.
The remaining two were still on admission as of Wednesday evening, according to the Headmaster of Okuapemman Senior High School, Rev. Richard Koranteng Afari.
The cause of the incident is not yet known.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, announced the closure of the schools when she led a delegation from the Regional Security Council for a first hand assessment of the extent of destruction on Wednesday.
Investigations are currently underway, according to the Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Joseph Owusu Bempah.
The Headmaster of Okuapemman Senior High School, Rev. Richard Koranteng Afari, said.
