The Ghana Football Association has unveiled a major support package for Colts clubs ahead of the 2026/27 season, including 3,000 footballs, 15,000 jerseys and 15,000 pairs of casual shoes. The equipment package was announced at the season launch at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

  • Two sets of football bibs every season for three years.
  • Jerseys and casual shoes as part of the initial support package.

The programme adds to the GFA’s reported annual investment of US$100,000 in footballs for grassroots development.

Grassroots pathway

The 2026/27 campaign is the sixth consecutive Colts season since the system was revived and restructured in 2020. The initiative is designed to reduce clubs’ equipment difficulties and strengthen the pathway from community football into Ghana’s organised game and national teams.

The launch brought together GFA officials, regional association representatives, club owners, coaches, former players and other stakeholders. Former Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan, who came through the Colts system, also attended. The GFA says 859 Colts clubs are currently active across Ghana.
