CAF Champions League: Medeama handed tough TP Mazembe test

Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have been drawn against DR Congo giants TP Mazembe in the first preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League.

First leg at home, return in Lubumbashi

Medeama will host the first leg at the TNA Stadium between 4 and 6 September 2026. The return leg will then be played away in Lubumbashi (Congo) between 11 and 13 September, with the aggregate winner advancing to the next qualifying round.

If Medeama overcome TP Mazembe, they will face the winner of the tie between Tunisia’s Club Africain and Mali’s Djoliba AC in the second preliminary round. Victory in that round would secure a place in the group stage of the CAF Champions League, the continent’s premier club competition.
