Organizers have officially confirmed that the Ghana Comedy Awards 2026 will take place on Friday, August 1, 2026, generating significant excitement within Ghana’s entertainment industry.
Creative Republic Limited, the team behind the popular awards scheme, made the announcement recently, positioning the event as a major celebration of Ghanaian comedy talent.
This year’s edition carries the theme “Experience Comedy,” which the organizers say is designed to offer audiences a more immersive and engaging exploration of the country’s thriving comedy scene.
The announcement has already sparked widespread anticipation among comedians, fans, and industry stakeholders.
Many have begun counting down to what promises to be one of the biggest nights dedicated to recognizing stand-up performers, skit creators, comedy influencers, and other contributors who bring laughter and social commentary to Ghanaians daily.
Speaking on the upcoming event,the Chief Executive Officer, Dennis Boateng of Creative Republic Limited spoke about the aim of the awards ceremony.

The Ghana Comedy Awards has steadily grown in stature. Its roots trace back to 2020 when it started as the Comedy and Poetry Awards.

After evolving and rebranding, it is now in its third year as the Ghana Comedy Awards, marking the sixth edition overall when combining both eras. The event has become a key platform for both established stars and emerging talents.
Industry figures frequently linked to the comedy space include award-winning comedian Lekzy DeComic, who has previously won Comedian of the Year and hosted major events; Albert Bondah, known for his organizational prowess behind successful comedy shows such as “A Fool in April” and “Laugh It Off”; Funny Face, who continues to inspire with his resilience and stage presence; as well as popular names like OB Amponsah, Jacinta, and many rising acts making waves on social media and live stages.
