Asante Kotoko SC has apologised to supporters following a string of poor results, including heavy losses to Medeama SC and Samartex FC, and has confirmed efforts to appoint a substantive head coach.
In a statement issued by the club’s communication director, Sarfo Kuku, the Porcupine Warriors admitted supporters’ frustrations over both the vacant technical role and admitted that recent performances have fallen below expected standards, and acknowledged growing frustration among fans.

Kotoko’s struggles have been highlighted by a 4-0 defeat to Medeama on Sunday, April 12, and another 2-1 defeat to Samartex on April 6, results that have intensified scrutiny on the team’s technical direction.

The club also expressed concerns over the absence of a permanent head coach following the departure of Karim Zito, revealing that the board is actively working to appoint a candidate whose philosophy aligns with its long-term ambitions.

Kotoko says “decisive steps” are being taken to restore the club’s standards and has appealed for patience and continued support from fans for the remainder of the season.
