Ghana’s fastest man, Abdul Rasheed Saminu, says he has more to offer after making an impressive start to his Commonwealth Games campaign in Glasgow.
Saminu booked his place in the men’s 100m semi-finals by winning his heat in a season-best 10.01 seconds, comfortably finishing ahead of the field.
Mauritania’s Orphee Topize placed second in 10.38 seconds, while Mc Kish Compton of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines finished third.

Speaking after the race, Saminu said he is saving his best performance for the latter stages of the competition, insisting there is still more to come from him.
It doesn’t matter the weather, whether it is windy, my coach always says that just show up and do your best, get ready and keep it going”
“There’s a lot in the bucket, I need to reserve it for the semis,” Saminu said.
The Ghanaian added that his focus remains on delivering his best for the country, insisting he is not distracted by external factors as he continues his pursuit of a podium finish in Glasgow.
