Sports analyst Kofi Asiedu has credited Ghana’s resurgence at the World Cup to tactical discipline under coach Carlos Queiroz.
Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (24 June), Asiedu said the Black Stars’ performance against England reflected a well-drilled system built on structure and adaptability.
“They were tactically disciplined. Every movement was orchestrated,” he said.
Asiedu noted that Ghana’s compact midfield and defensive organisation limited England’s attacking threat, describing the performance as “almost perfect” tactically.

He added that Queiroz’s pragmatic approach—focusing on structure and exploiting team strengths—has transformed a squad many had doubted before the tournament.
“I was sceptical before the World Cup, but I’ve been totally surprised,” he said.
Looking ahead, Asiedu said Ghana must maintain the same disciplined approach against Croatia, describing the final group match as decisive.
“If we play to our strengths, we should be able to deal with Croatia,” he added.
