Ghanaian singer King Promise and Nigerian artist Mr Eazi have received a nomination for Best Collaboration at the 18th Headies Awards for their joint track “See What We’ve Done.” The announcement formed part of the full nominees list released on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, for the prestigious African music awards ceremony scheduled to take place in Canada later this year.
The recognition highlights the title track from the duo’s collaborative album of the same name, released in April 2026 through emPawa Africa. The nine-track project marked the first full joint album from the longtime friends and collaborators, who first connected more than a decade earlier.
“See What We’ve Done” serves as both the album’s closing statement and a reflective celebration of their individual and shared success, friendship, and growth in the industry.
Promotional materials circulating alongside the nomination news featured stylish images of the two artists. One shows them in a scenic outdoor setting with rolling green hills, while another formal graphic presents them side by side against an ornate background bearing the Headies branding and the category “Best Collaboration.”
The graphics emphasize the cross-border nature of the partnership between the Ghanaian and Nigerian stars.
King Promise, whose full name is Gregory Promise Bortey Newman, has built a strong reputation in Afropop and highlife with melodic hits and consistent output. Mr Eazi, born Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, is known for pioneering the “Banku” sound and for his entrepreneurial work through the emPawa Africa platform that supports emerging African talent.

Their earlier collaborations, including the popular track “Dabebi,” laid the groundwork for the deeper partnership realized on the joint album.
The album See What We’ve Done explores themes of romance, reflection, celebration, and personal progress. It opens with “Where Have You Been?” and includes standout moments such as “That Way,” which interpolates the Backstreet Boys classic “I Want It That Way,” as well as “Mariana” and other tracks blending Afrobeats, highlife, R&B, and pop elements.
Production credits feature notable names including GuiltyBeatz, JAE5, KillBeatz, Gideonite, and others.
Lead singles from the project accumulated tens of millions of streams and charted in multiple territories across Africa, Europe, the UK, and the Middle East prior to the full album release.
In interviews surrounding the project, both artists described the album as a natural extension of their long-standing creative chemistry and personal bond. They worked on material across different periods before locking in intensively to complete the body of work.
The title itself functions as a direct statement of achievement and gratitude after years of building separate yet overlapping careers.
