The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially opened the bidding process for countries interested in hosting the 2028, 2032 and 2036 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe confirmed that several member associations have already submitted expressions of interest to stage Africa’s premier international football competition.
Commercial rights tender launched
Alongside the hosting process, CAF has also launched a Commercial Rights Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the 2028, 2032 and 2036 editions of the tournament.

According to the continental governing body, several leading international sports marketing agencies have expressed interest in partnering with CAF to enhance the commercial value of future AFCON competitions.
CAF believes stronger commercial partnerships will generate additional revenue that can be reinvested into football development across its 54 member associations.
The governing body has not yet announced a timeline for selecting the successful bidders.
CAF said the host nations for the 2028, 2032 and 2036 Africa Cup of Nations will be confirmed at a later date following the completion of the evaluation process.
