Students of Northern Business School in Tamale have been encouraged to look beyond academic success and begin shaping purposeful futures through a mentorship programme organized by A Voice 4 Her Initiative.

The event which was the launch of a major Mentorship Series by A Voice 4 Her brought together young girls preparing for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination and life after senior high school.

The programme, themed “Empowering Young Girls for the Next Step: Preparing for WASSCE and Life beyond Senior High School,” created an interactive platform where students engaged with experienced professionals and educators.

The initiative sought to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real life aspirations, equipping participants with both academic guidance and personal development tools.

Ibrahim Mustapha, Public Speaking Coach took them on Public speaking and confidence building, while Major Randy Tawiah also educated the girls on personal security and cyberbullying

The event also drew participation from key stakeholders in education and development, including Professor Paul Nkegbe, Dean of the Graduate School at the University for Development Studies, and development practitioner Hairiya Bala, who both contributed to discussions on education, leadership, and career pathways.

Encouraging Vision and Intentional Growth

In her address, Priscilla Khadi Vawurah urged the young girls to approach their future with purpose, discipline, and confidence. She emphasized that success begins with a mindset that recognizes individual potential and the power of informed choices.

Today is not just about preparing for what is here, it is about preparing for your life,” she stated, encouraging students to think beyond immediate academic challenges and focus on long term personal growth.

You are not too small to lead. You are not too young to dream. And you are not too late to become everything that God has called you to be,” she said, drawing applause from the audience.
