Head coach of the New York Knicks Basketball Team, Mike Brown, says winning the NBA Cup will propel his team to handle pressure as the Knicks prepare for life in the playoffs with championship ambitions.
He said this according to ESPN after leading New York Knicks to a 124-113 win over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Cup Final.
Knicks guard Jalen Brunson won the Most Valuable Player Award in the game after registering 25 points, eight assists and four rebounds in 41 minutes.
OG Anunoby led the game in scoring with 28 points and fell a rebound short of registering a double-double in the win; after replacing Tom Thibodeau, who led the Knicks to a Conference Finals appearance last season, Mike Brown was bullish about the importance of the win to the team.
“This is a single-elimination tournament when you get to a certain point. Every game counts.”

“There’s pressure on every game if you expect to be who you think you are. When you’re able to have success doing it, it breeds confidence in everybody within the organization.”

“That can propel you come the right time when you’re in that environment to be able to handle the pressure because you’ve already been through it” Mike Brown said.

Each player on the Knicks walked away with half a million dollars for winning the competition.
