The Black Queens will begin their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign on Wednesday, July 29, when they face Cape Verde in their Group C opener in Morocco.
Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren’s side enters the tournament in high spirits after a successful preparation period that included a training camp and a series of friendly matches.

Ghana will be aiming for a winning start as the team looks to build on its bronze medal finish at the 2024 WAFCON.
The Black Queens are targeting a place in the knockout stage and will be looking to collect all three points against Cape Verde in their opening fixture.
Kick-off is scheduled for 17:00 GMT at the Moulay Rachid Stadium, with Ghanaian fans hoping for a strong start to the team’s continental campaign.
