Former Member of Parliament for Pru East, Hon. Dr. Kwabena Donkor, has donated two brand-new maternity delivery beds to the Mathias Catholic Hospital in Yeji to support maternal health care.

Mathias Catholic Hospital is a 146-bed capacity district hospital serving the Pru East District and surrounding areas in the Bono East Region. Like many hospitals in Ghana, the hospital lacks certain amenities.

The beds, valued at GHS 30,000, were presented at a brief ceremony at the hospital to mark Dr. Donkor’s 68th birthday on February 5, 2026.

Receiving the donation, Hospital Administrator Rev. Sister Glory Jacinta Rani thanked Dr. Donkor, emphasizing how the new beds will improve safe delivery services at the facility.
