The Centre for National Culture in Ghana’s Western Region is set to receive a major upgrade with the completion of its auditorium, funded by the Tourism Ministry. This project is part of a national plan to establish cultural hubs in the six newly created regions.

Western Regional Minister Joseph Nelson welcomes the development, calling it a new chapter for the region. The centre had fallen into disrepair due to years of neglect but saw hope when the former Tourism Minister pledged restoration in July 2024.

National Commission on Culture Executive Director Wakefield Wisdom Ackuaku assures that current Tourism Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie is working to secure funding. “We’re working to ensure every region has a state-of-the-art auditorium to promote and preserve our culture,” he said.
The completion is a significant relief for the Western Region, according to Minister Nelson, who hopes to see the project through.
