Three men have been remanded into police custody by the Fiapre Circuit Court for allegedly stealing a Beretta service pistol from the Newmont Ahafo Mines Company in Ntotroso, near Kenyase, in the Ahafo Region. The incident occurred on January 13, 2025, and involved a firearm registered as GHGP/NHQ/CTD/H78688Z13.
The suspects, Joseph Blackige (25), Kwabena Dodzi (44), and Adu Yeboah Abraham (46), were arrested on November 12, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation by the National Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU). A search at Abraham’s residence uncovered six BB cartridges, suspected gunpowder, and GH¢28,844 in cash, which have been seized as exhibits.
The court, presided over by H/W Mrs. Akua Adoma Addae, granted police enquiry bail to the fourth suspect, 18-year-old Priscilla Awuni, pending further investigations. The three male suspects are scheduled to reappear in court on November 28, 2025, facing provisional charges of stealing and possession of stolen property.
