Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is calling for calm and focus as Ghana prepares for the next phase of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The national team has regrouped in Accra, with several players already arriving in Ghana ahead of training camp.

Addo emphasized the need to avoid complacency despite Ghana’s current good standing in their qualifying group. “We are in a good situation and I hope that we can do everything to qualify,” he said. “We have to take it step by step, we can’t make a mistake. A lot of people are talking about the World Cup already, but it’s still a long way.”

Upcoming Fixtures:

  • Matchday 7: Ghana vs Chad on September 4, 2025, at Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno in N’Djamena (13:00 GMT)
  • Matchday 8: Ghana vs Mali on September 8, 2025, at Accra Sports Stadium (19:00 GMT)

Addo stressed that the immediate focus is on the Chad fixture, saying, “The next is the focus on the Chad game and I hope that we can win.” Ghana currently tops Group I with 15 points from six matches, three points ahead of Comoros and five points ahead of Madagascar.

The Black Stars will begin training on September 1, with the first session open to the media and fans. However, the team will train behind closed doors on September 2 before departing for N’Djamena
