Black Stars coach Otto Addo has announced his 24-man squad for Ghana’s final two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against the Central African Republic and Comoros. The squad features exciting inclusions like Kojo Peprah Oppong, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Alidu Seidu.
The 21-year-old Kojo Peprah Oppong earns his first senior national team call-up after impressive performances with OGC Nice in France’s Ligue 1. Oppong’s rise from Ghana’s Division One club Attram De Visser to European football has caught the attention of national team selectors. Prince Owusu, a midfielder for Medeama SC, also receives his first national team call-up following a promising start to the Ghana Premier League season, showcasing the coach’s commitment to integrating fresh talent.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, a Leicester City winger, returns to the squad after a strong season in the English Championship, having overcome an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in November. Defender Alidu Seidu is also making a comeback after recovering from a knee injury that sidelined in him for nearly a year.
The Black Stars will face the Central African Republic on Wednesday, October 8, in Meknes, Morocco, before hosting Comoros in Accra on Sunday, October 12. The team currently leads Group I and needs just four points from these last two games to secure their place in a fifth FIFA World Cup, set to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in 2026.
