The National Sports Authority (NSA) has announced that ticket sales for Ghana’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Comoros will close at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025. This decision aims to address crowd control issues witnessed during Ghana’s previous home game against Mali in September.
According to NSA Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, the early closure of ticket sales is designed to prevent large crowds from gathering around the stadium to buy tickets just before kickoff, thereby improving the match-day experience and enhancing security for fans at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The ticket sales will close at 3:00 PM on match day, four hours before the 7:00 PM kickoff. This move is expected to promote better crowd control and enhance security for fans attending the game.
Ghana needs only a draw to secure their place at the 2026 World Cup co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets before the Sunday deadline to ensure a smooth and enjoyable match-day experience.
By taking this proactive measure, the NSA demonstrates its commitment to ensuring a safe, orderly, and enjoyable environment for all attendees.
