The National Sports Authority has announced that there will be no ticket sales at the stadium on matchday for the Black Stars’ crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Mali. The match is scheduled for Monday, September 8, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off set for 19:00 GMT.

According to Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Director General of the National Sports Authority, the decision was made due to past difficulties with seating arrangements and crowd control, particularly during Ghana’s previous home game in March. Ankrah emphasized the importance of avoiding last-minute rushes and congestion to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all spectators.

Fans are urged to purchase their tickets in advance through official channels to avoid disappointment and ensure their place at the stadium for this vital encounter. Ticket prices are as follows ²:

  • VVIP: GH₵1,000
  • VIP: GH₵500
  • VIP Wings: GH₵300
  • VIP Lower: GH₵200
  • Centre Line: GH₵50
  • Goal Post: GH₵30

A win against Mali is crucial for Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The Black Stars currently top Group I of the African qualifiers with 15 points from six matches, and victories in both upcoming fixtures are critical to their quest for a fifth World Cup appearance.
