The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has described the Pwamang Committee’s report recommending the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo from office as a “secret document”. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Afenyo-Markin stated that the Minority would not relent on their demand for a copy of the report.

Afenyo-Markin criticized the process, citing a lack of transparency and constitutional violations. He questioned the sudden submission of the report without notice to the parties involved and the absence of a prima facie determination document. The Minority Leader emphasized that the report’s secrecy raises serious constitutional questions.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo has filed a case at the High Court against her removal from office and is seeking to halt the vetting of her replacement, Paul Baffoe Bonnie. The court case seeks to quash the Pwamang Committee’s proceedings and the Presidential Warrant removing her from office.
