Ghana’s National Security Coordinator, DCOP Razak Abdul-Osman, has ordered the immediate dissolution of all special task forces and operational units at the Tema Port, citing the need to enhance efficiency, enforce operational discipline, and protect national revenue.
This move is part of a broader initiative to strengthen port security, eliminate revenue leakages, and ensure all agencies operate with integrity and professionalism. The decision follows a petition by the Anti-Economic Saboteurs Bureau, which alleged deliberate acts of economic sabotage and the presence of a sophisticated revenue and economic fraud syndicate at the port.
All affected personnel have been asked to return to the secretariat in Accra for debriefing and strategic reposting. A newly established Internal Affairs Unit will oversee the reforms, ensuring the Tema Port functions as a secure and reliable hub for trade and economic activities.
