President John Dramani Mahama relaunched the National Sanitation Day on September 6, 2025, at the Institute of Local Government Studies in Accra. This initiative aims to bring back cleanliness and enhance healthy living in Ghanaian communities. Speaking at the event was Lawyer George Opare Addo, the Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment, who emphasized that beyond keeping our environment clean, the relaunch of the national sanitation day is also to nurture the culture of responsibility, discipline, and collective actions for national progress.

The Minister further stated that sanitation is essential for creating an environment where young people can learn, grow, and thrive. The relaunch of the national sanitation day is a collective initiative not only to make our environments clean but also to bring back a better and a healthier Ghana.

The “Bus Top Boyz” and other sanitation agencies were present at the ceremony, sharing their joy in having this initiative brought back to life. The relaunch of the National Sanitation Day is a significant step towards promoting cleanliness and healthy living in Ghana, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the environment and the well-being of Ghanaians.
