Ghanaian musician Lasmid has revealed that his popular song ‘Puul’ was initially conceived as a gospel song, but he later decided to change the lyrics to fit a different theme.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Lasmid explained that he had originally written ‘Puul’ with a gospel message in mind, but felt it didn’t quite fit the genre. He then reworked the lyrics to create the catchy and upbeat track that fans know today.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on Monday, December 8, 2025, the ‘puul’ hitmaker expressed his desire to explore gospel music in the future, believing that many of his love songs could easily fit into a church setting.
“I can see myself making gospel music and some of my love songs can be played in church”, he added.
Lasmid, known for his catchy melodies and unique style, also shared that inspiration for his songs often strikes when he’s taking a shower.
Addressing unreleased songs, Lasmid mentioned that he has actually recorded songs that haven’t released because he feels they are not the right songs at this particular time so he is keeping them for the right time to release them.
