Asante Kotoko players have missed out on the Black Galaxies squad for the upcoming friendly match against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on December 16, 2025. The squad, announced by head coach Kassim Mingle, features 20 players from various Ghana Premier League clubs, with Medeama SC leading the way with five players selected.
The Black Galaxies squad includes goalkeepers Lawrence Osei (Heart of Lions) and Felix Kyei (Medeama SC), defenders Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC), Isaac Afful (FC Samartex), and Razak Simpson (Nations FC), among others. The team is preparing for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers and will use the friendly match as a crucial warm-up.
Medeama SC’s strong performance in the Ghana Premier League has earned them the most selections, with players like Prince Owusu and Salim Adams making the cut. The Black Galaxies will travel to Gauteng, South Africa, for the friendly match, which will serve as a test for Ghana’s locally-based players

Both players have excelled despite Kotoko struggling for consistency as the Porcupine Warriors have just a win in its last five games.

Ghana failed to qualify to the 2025 AFCON that commences on December 21 in Morocco but South Africa will compete in the tournament and have been drawn in Group B with Angola, Egypt and Zimbabwe.
