Asante Kotoko has lifted the 2025 Champion of Champions title after edging Bibiani GoldStars 1-0 at the DUNS Park on Sunday, August 31, 2025. The Porcupine Warriors, who had a disappointing GHALCA Top Four campaign, looked revitalized and purposeful from the start, dictating possession and tempo in the first half.
Despite early pressure from both teams, the game remained goalless at halftime, with GoldStars’ dangerous free-kick midway through the half being expertly saved by Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare Camara. The deadlock was broken in the 68th minute when midfielder Hamzata reacted quickly to a loose ball from a set-piece and calmly slotted home from close range.
GoldStars pushed hard for an equalizer in the final minutes, but Kotoko’s defense held firm, securing a crucial win for the Porcupine Warriors. This victory marks Kotoko’s fourth Champion of Champions crown, boosting their morale ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup. For GoldStars, the defeat highlights the challenge ahead in the CAF Champions League.
The win sends a strong statement of intent for Kotoko ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season.
