Asante Kotoko has yet to receive the transfer fee for striker Albert Amoah, who joined Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi earlier this year. The Ghanaian giants are still awaiting payment of over $200,000, with club officials expressing frustration and disappointment over the delay.

According to Asante Kotoko’s Communication Director, Sarfo Duku, the club has been in constant communication with Al Ahly Benghazi officials, but the agreed transfer amount has not hit the club’s accounts. The club has issued an ultimatum to the Libyan side, warning that failure to settle the payment will result in formal action through football governing bodies, including CAF and FIFA.

“I wouldn’t want to go deeply, but all that I can say is that Kotoko has a transfer agreement with Ali Benghazi in respect of a former striker, Albert Amoah.

“Even though the transfer agreed amount is yet to hit the accounts of Kotoko, I can confirm to you that the IMC chairman is in constant touch with officials of Ali Benghazi, obviously the amount will be in,” he said.

“I can’t go into the merits of the agreement because of some contractual issues. Trust me, as both clubs are governed by the rules of the game, I do not think that anything can happen.”

Amoah, who joined Asante Kotoko from Great Olympics last season, has been in impressive form for Al Ahly Benghazi, sparking concerns over contractual compliance. The transfer fee is reportedly $200,000, with Amoah also receiving a signing-on fee of $200,000 and a monthly salary of $20,000, potentially rising to $25,000.
