The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and other security agencies will hold a joint show of force exercise in Accra on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The exercise aims to enhance operational readiness, deter criminal activities, and assure the public of the security forces’ preparedness, especially ahead of the holiday season.
Participating agencies include the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and Ghana Immigration Service. The exercise will start at 9:00 am, beginning at Black Star Square, marching through major streets in Accra, and ending at the same location.
The public is advised to remain calm and continue with their daily activities, despite possible increased security presence and temporary traffic disruptions in some parts of Accra. The exercise is part of routine efforts to enhance coordination among security agencies and strengthen national security.
The operation aims to enhance operational preparedness, deter criminal activity, and reassure the public of the readiness of security agencies to safeguard national stability.
The event is described as a routine training exercise designed to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and reinforce a strong national security posture against potential threats.
Authorities caution that residents in Accra and surrounding areas may experience an increased security presence and temporary traffic slowdowns, but have encouraged the public to go about their normal activities.
