As Ghana gears up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has called on the nation to draw important lessons from its previous World Cup experiences. Speaking on Asempa FM after Ghana secured qualification, Adams highlighted the significance of proper preparation to maximize the benefits of the global event.
The Black Stars confirmed their place in the tournament with a 1-0 win over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium, finishing top of Group I with 25 points. This marks Ghana’s fifth appearance in football’s premier competition since their debut in 2006.
Adams emphasized the need for careful planning to ensure success beyond the pitch. He noted that the World Cup presents an extraordinary opportunity for Ghana to showcase its culture, hospitality, and national pride. To achieve this, he stressed the importance of:
