President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to establish a Green Digital City in Ghana, a flagship initiative under his administration’s industrial transformation agenda. The city will be built in the Greater Accra, Volta, and Eastern regions, and will serve as a hub for sustainable innovation, smart urban development, and renewable energy integration.
The project will be executed in four phases over 20 years, with the first phase expected to commence before the end of President Mahama’s tenure. To guide the design and feasibility study of the project, an inter-ministerial committee will soon be inaugurated. Additionally, a transaction advisor will be appointed to lead the implementation process.
