Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to establishing a 24-hour economy, designed to reduce business bottlenecks and create opportunities for Ghanaian enterprises. Speaking at the This Is Ghana Exhibition in Accra, Debrah emphasized that the policy aims to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, fostering creativity and ambition.
The government’s commitment to building a 24-hour economy is tailored to create more opportunities, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure that Ghanaian businesses operate in an environment that matches their ambition and creativity. This initiative is expected to boost national development and job creation.
Debrah commended key state institutions, including the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Ghana Exim Bank, and the Ghana Enterprises Agency, for their participation in the exhibition. These institutions are crucial in expanding access to finance, scaling up Ghanaian enterprises, and preparing them to compete globally.
The Chief of Staff urged Ghanaians to prioritize Made-in-Ghana products, stressing that patronizing local goods will strengthen industries and create employment. “You are not just showcasing products. You are showcasing Ghana’s future. With persistence, quality, and innovation, Ghana can rise to occupy its rightful place in the global market,” he told exhibitors.
Reducing reliance on foreign goods would directly boost national development and job creation. Debrah assured that the government would continue to provide the enabling environment for businesses to flourish, since the success of local enterprises translates into success for the entire nation.
The This Is Ghana Exhibition offers a platform for businesses to showcase their creativity, connect with consumers, and attract potential investors. With a wide range of products on display, including packaged foods, beverages, fashion, and electronics, the event promotes Ghanaian industries and provides opportunities for networking and long-term partnerships. Visitors can also sample authentic Ghanaian meals, local drinks, and freshly prepared dishes at the Grills Village.
By implementing the 24-hour economy policy, Ghana aims to boost national development, create jobs, and increase its global competitiveness. The policy’s success will depend on strong private sector participation and effective implementation.
