Ghana is making it easier and faster for citizens to get their passports. Starting tomorrow, November 13, 2025, the standard passport application fee will drop from GH¢500 to GH¢350, a 30% reduction. But if you’re in a hurry, there’s a one-day passport service available for GH¢2,000.
This new service is perfect for emergency situations like medical travel or last-minute business trips. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, announced that applicants will receive their passports within 24 hours of applying, with all necessary biometric and security checks in place.
The standard fee is GH¢350, down from GH¢500, while the one-day service fee is GH¢2,000. Processing time is 15 working days for standard applications and 24 hours for one-day service. Courier delivery is available nationwide at no extra charge.
The government aims to make passport services more accessible and affordable, while also reducing the influence of middlemen and unauthorized agents. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged citizens to use official channels and report any fraudulent activities.
