These numbers represent a concerning trend, with the minister expressing worry over the situation, noting that it mirrors last year’s statistics.
In 2024, Ghana recorded 1,219 reported robbery cases and 552 murder cases. The increase in crime rates has prompted the government to take decisive action, announcing a Gun Amnesty Programme to reduce illicit firearms and enhance public safety.
