Ghana, Afreximbank resolve issues Over $750 million facility – Dr. Ato Forson

Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, has announced that the Government of Ghana and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) have successfully resolved issues surrounding a $750-million financing facility signed in 2022.

‎Dr. Forson, in a Facebook post on Thursday December 25, 2025, said the resolution was reached to the satisfaction of both parties, allowing them to continue their partnership in support of Ghana’s development agenda.

‎The agreement clears the way for renewed cooperation between Ghana and Afreximbank after discussions to address challenges linked to the facility.

‎Dr. Forson noted that the outcome reflects the government’s commitment to constructive engagement with international financial partners and to promoting economic stability and growth in the country.
