A technical and forensic audit of the National Service Authority (NSA) has revealed that former Director-General Osei Assibey Antwi allegedly received GH¢8,256,000 while serving as a volunteer within the NSA during his tenure as Director-General.
According to the audit report, Antwi was designated as a volunteer, assigned an EZWICH card, and posted to the Greater Accra region in the 2022/2023 service year. However, payroll records indicate that he was linked to the Kumawu Farms, a 200-acre farmland initiative in the Ashanti Region that was commenced by his administration.
The audit findings show that Antwi received GH¢516,000 every month for 16 months, which is equivalent to the allowances of 721 service personnel. This amount was deposited into his EZWICH account.
The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, had previously stated that investigations into financial malfeasance at the NSA revealed that GH¢8,256,000 was deposited into Antwi’s EZWICH account. During a search of his house, the EZWICH card was found.
The audit report’s findings align with Dr. Ayine’s statement, suggesting that Antwi personally received the funds in question.
