he Ministry of Finance has officially announced the relocation of its offices to Kanda in Accra, a move it says is aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, coordination, and responsiveness in the delivery of its mandate.
The relocation takes effect from Monday, February 9, 2026, when the Ministry will begin full operations from its new premises. In a press release issued on February 6, 2026, the Ministry informed the general public and stakeholders that all its administrative and official activities will henceforth be conducted from the Kanda offices.
The announcement marks a significant shift in the physical location of one of the country’s most critical government institutions, responsible for managing Ghana’s public finances and shaping fiscal policy. According to the Ministry, the decision to relocate forms part of broader efforts to improve internal coordination and service delivery.
The new facility provides an environment better suited to the demands of modern public financial management, including enhanced space for staff, improved infrastructure, and more efficient workflows that will support timely decision making.

The Ministry clarified that the office complex at Kanda was constructed by the Ghana Revenue Authority before the current administration assumed office. This disclosure was intended to provide clarity on the origins of the facility and to underscore that the relocation utilises existing state infrastructure.
Reducing Operational Constraints
By moving into a purpose built government facility, the Ministry expects to reduce operational constraints associated with its previous location. With the relocation, all official correspondence, visits, and public inquiries are to be directed to the new address at Tumu Avenue in Kanda.
The Ministry has provided updated address details, including its digital address, to ensure seamless communication with the public, development partners, and other government institutions. Despite the change in physical location, the Ministry confirmed that its contact telephone numbers and email addresses remain unchanged.
Officials emphasised that the transition is designed to be smooth and minimally disruptive. The Ministry has assured stakeholders that arrangements have been made to ensure continuity of services throughout the relocation process.
Members of the public who rely on the Ministry for documentation, approvals, and consultations are encouraged to take note of the new address to avoid inconvenience.
The relocation comes at a time when the Ministry of Finance is playing a central role in Ghana’s economic management, including fiscal consolidation, revenue mobilisation, and engagement with domestic and international partners.
Enhancing the Ministry’s operational effectiveness is essential to meeting these responsibilities, particularly in a period marked by economic reforms and heightened public expectations.

Commitment to Professionalism
In its statement, the Ministry reiterated its commitment to professionalism, ethical conduct, efficiency, and responsiveness. It said the move to Kanda reflects its determination to strengthen institutional capacity and improve the quality of service provided to citizens and stakeholders.
The Ministry expressed confidence that the new premises will better support collaboration among departments and facilitate more effective engagement with other arms of government. The press release also highlighted the Ministry’s expectation of continued cooperation from stakeholders as it settles into its new location.
It noted that the success of the relocation depends not only on internal adjustments but also on the understanding and support of the public, private sector actors, and development partners who regularly interact with the Ministry.
As Ghana continues to pursue reforms aimed at strengthening public sector performance, the relocation of the Ministry of Finance is being viewed as a practical step toward aligning infrastructure with institutional responsibilities.
Efficient physical working environments can play an important role in improving productivity, staff morale, and overall service delivery in the public sector.

The Ministry encouraged the public to seek further information through its established communication channels, including its official telephone lines, email address, and website. It reaffirmed its readiness to respond to inquiries and to maintain open lines of communication as it begins operations from the Kanda offices.
With full operations set to commence on February 9, the relocation marks a new chapter for the Ministry of Finance as the move positions the Ministry to better serve the nation as it continues to manage Ghana’s financial affairs and support the broader goals of economic stability and development.
