Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has met with traders at Takoradi’s Market Circle as part of stakeholder consultations for the 2026 Budget Statement. He described the interaction as “humbling and inspiring,” noting that efforts to stabilize the economy are showing results.

“Many spoke of easing prices, renewed confidence, and a growing sense that the tide is finally turning in their favour,” Dr. Forson said. The Minister also inspected the abandoned Market Circle redevelopment project, pledging the government’s commitment to completing it.

“The project has been captured as a priority, and work will resume next year,” Dr. Forson assured, adding that the contractor will return once debt restructuring is concluded. The completed project will transform the area into a modern commercial hub, improving sanitation and economic activity.
