The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance exercises across parts of the country beginning Monday, February 16, 2026, cautioning customers to prepare for temporary power outages in affected communities.
According to the power distributor, the maintenance works will take place in the Tema, Greater Accra, Accra East and Central regions as part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and enhance system reliability.

In Tema and its environs, ECG indicated that it “will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” with outages scheduled between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm on selected days.
The first exercise is set for Tuesday, February 17, and will affect several communities including Community 16, 17 and 24, Sydal Farms, Adjel Kodjo, Japan City, Global, Teteman, Baatsonaa (Total and Cluster of Schools), Resolve Hospital, Timber Market, Bakeshop, Marina Mall and surrounding areas.
On Wednesday, February 18, the maintenance will extend to areas such as FOS Aluminium, Kakalika Plaza, Shell Signboard, Kpogas and nearby communities.
A third round of maintenance in the Tema Region on Thursday, February 19, will impact Lashibi, Emef Estates, High Tension, Celebrity Golf Club, Jotafa, Sakumono Village and Estates, along with adjoining neighbourhoods.
Residents and businesses in these locations have been advised to plan accordingly within the scheduled outage period.
Greater Accra Region to Experience Extended Outages
Customers in parts of the Greater Accra Region are expected to experience longer outage periods, running from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
An ECG notice indicated that on Tuesday, February 17, areas including Odorkor, Awoshie, Odorgonnor, Gbawel, Israel Last Stop, Agradaa, Tuba, Krokrobite, Old Bortianor, Old Aplaku and surrounding communities will be affected.
Further maintenance in the region is scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, covering Wiaboman, Glefe, Kotoku Shell Filling Station, Red Top, Old Barrier, New Aplaku, Kings University and nearby areas.
On Friday, February 20, additional outages will occur in Alogboshie, Achimota Neoplan, Benjilo, Cassava Farm, Oshiyie and adjoining communities as engineers continue system improvement works.

The company emphasised that these interventions are part of broader efforts to modernise infrastructure and minimise unplanned outages in the future.
In the Accra East Region, ECG announced that on Monday, February 16, power supply will be interrupted from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in areas including UPSA Hostel, Trinity, Mempeasem, School Junction, parts of Adjiringanor, Obinim Church, Kanda Estate and surrounding communities.
Another exercise on Tuesday, February 17, will affect Mantey Tsuru, TS Guest House, La Cemetery, Burma Camp, Dzorwulu UBA Bank, Odateye Tsui Road and nearby locations.
On Wednesday, February 18, residents of Ablor Adjei Township, parts of Cantonments, Abokobi Township, parts of Teiman, Adenta Container, Abenwoha and surrounding communities are also expected to experience temporary outages.
ECG has urged customers in these areas to take necessary precautions, including switching off electrical appliances during the outage period to prevent damage when power is restored.
Central Region Communities Affected
In the Central Region, ECG indicated that maintenance works will be carried out on Tuesday, February 17, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
Communities expected to be affected include Eduyaw Owane, Mando, Abaasa, Essarkyir, Goamoamaim, Baah, Afransie, Amai, Eshiem, Entumbil, Ochiso and surrounding areas.
The company reiterated that the temporary inconvenience is part of a long-term strategy to enhance the reliability and quality of electricity supply across the country.
ECG assured customers that the planned maintenance exercises are essential to strengthening the distribution network and improving overall service delivery.
By undertaking scheduled upgrades and repairs, the company aims to reduce the frequency of unexpected power disruptions and enhance operational efficiency.
Customers in the affected regions are encouraged to monitor official ECG communication channels for updates and to cooperate with field engineers during the maintenance period.
While the temporary outages may disrupt daily routines for households and businesses, ECG maintains that the improvements will contribute to a more stable and resilient power supply system in the months ahead.
