The Fosu Royal Family of Parkoso and Nsuta has dismissed Akosua Serwah Fosuh’s claims over the funeral and estate of late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba. According to the family’s lawyers, Baba Jamal & Associates, Akosua Serwah abandoned her husband 15 years ago when he fell ill and refused to return to Ghana. This action is considered desertion under Akan customary practice.
Furthermore, the family claims that Akosua Serwah presented traditional drinks to signify the dissolution of their marriage, an act recognized under Akan customary practice. As a result, the Fosu family recognizes Priscilla Ofori, also known as Odo Broni, as Daddy Lumba’s wife. The couple had six children together and lived with Daddy Lumba for over 15 years.
Regarding the distribution of Daddy Lumba’s properties, the lawyers stated that all assets form part of his estate and will be handled jointly by the family and the children to ensure fair distribution. They advised all parties to stay away from the properties until a legal and equitable process is completed.
The law firm also disclosed that it holds some instructions from Daddy Lumba before his demise, which will guide the family on his preferred funeral arrangements and the handling of his estate. The Fosu Royal Family has called for calm and urged all parties, including Akosua Serwah Fosuh, to engage in peaceful discussions to ensure a dignified and befitting burial for the late music icon.
