The late Catherine O’Hara has been honoured with the best TV comedy actress award for her performance in the Hollywood satire series The Studio.

The award was accepted on her behalf by the show’s creator, Seth Rogen, who paid tribute to O’Hara’s character and work ethic.

“She really showed that you can be a genius and be kind, and one of those things does not have to come at the expense of the other,” Rogen said.

He added that O’Hara impressed colleagues with her generosity and professionalism while maintaining high creative standards.

“Something I’ve been marvelling at over the last few weeks was her ability to be generous and kind and gracious while never minimising her own talents and her own ability to contribute to the work we were doing,” he said.

O’Hara’s victory was part of a strong showing for The Studio, which also claimed awards for best comedy ensemble and best comedy actor for Rogen.

The actress, celebrated for roles in classics such as Home Alone and Schitt’s Creek, died in January, prompting tributes from across the entertainment industry.

Other winners at the Actor Awards included Michelle Williams for Dying For Sex, Keri Russell for The Diplomat, and British actor Owen Cooper for Adolescence. Cooper was not present at the Los Angeles ceremony to collect his prize.

Medical drama The Pitt also secured recognition, winning best drama ensemble and best TV drama actor for Noah Wyle. Accepting the award, Wyle praised his co-stars, describing the production as demanding yet rewarding.

“Filming the series has been challenging, difficult, and rewarding in ways I couldn’t possibly fathom, but I look at your faces, and I wouldn’t change one thing,” he said.
