Football legend Wayne Rooney has called for Liverpool FC head coach Arne Slot to omit Mohamed Salah from the squad that will play in the UEFA Champions League later this week.
Liverpool take on Inter Milan at the San Siro in Italy on Tuesday, December 9 at 20:00 GMT and the former Manchester United forward says Slot must not include Mo Salah in Liverpool’s travelling party.
He made this comment on his podcast on the BBC after Mo Salah delivered damning statements about the club after Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Leeds United where he was an unused substitute.
This marked the third game in a row that Salah had missed out on a place in the starting lineup and the move upset the Egyptian who accused Liverpool of throwing him under the bus. (Click highlighted text to read full highlights)
Reacting to the viral interview, Wayne Rooney said Salah was destroying his legacy and called for him to be dropped from the squad.

“Arne Slot has to show his authority and pull him-Mo Salah- in and say ‘you are not travelling with the team, what you said is not acceptable. Take yourself off to Afcon and let everything calm down. If I was him there would be no way he would be in the team.”

“He is absolutely destroying his legacy at Liverpool. It would be sad for him to throw it all away. He’s gone about it all wrong” Rooney said.
