Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to demonstrate their readiness for power through unity and disciplined actions. Speaking at the NPP National Delegates Conference, Afenyo-Markin emphasized the need for the party to come together, put aside personal ambitions, and focus on reconnecting with the grassroots.
He stressed that the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections was not due to external factors, but rather internal decay, and urged members to resolve differences behind closed doors. Afenyo-Markin also highlighted the importance of loyalty, sacrifice, and ideological education, citing the example of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rise to power.
The Minority Leader outlined four key pillars for rebuilding the party: unity, return to NPP values, grassroots mobilization, and rebranding through results. He emphasized that the party must become a force for Ghana, rather than individual ambitions, and that unity is essential for victory in the 2028 elections.
Afenyo-Markin’s message was clear: the NPP must learn from its mistakes, reconnect with the people, and demonstrate its commitment to Ghana’s development. “Let our actions prove we’re ready for power,” he urged.
