Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has issued a strong warning ahead of the Premier League title race showdown.

Speaking before Sunday’s clash against Arsenal, Guardiola admitted his side cannot afford to lose, with the result likely to have a major impact on the title race.

City currently trails Arsenal by six points, albeit with a game in hand, making this weekend’s encounter crucial to their hopes of securing the 2025–2026 league title.

Addressing the media in his pre-match press conference, Guardiola also revealed that his team will adopt a different approach, insisting they will not play the same way they did in their 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

“Yes, obviously. If we lose, it is over. If you could buy confidence in a supermarket we would buy it immediately. It is one of the most important aspects.”
