Fast-rising Afro-spiritualist Enam Music has opened up about her unconventional childhood and the spiritual experiences that continue to shape her music and identity.

In an interview with Asaase Radio’s Elvis Crystal on Rush Hour, the singer revealed that she was born with twelve toes, a condition that led to rejection throughout her early years.

According to Enam, although she underwent surgery at age eight to remove the extra toes, she still experiences what she describes as a spiritual recurrence during moments of heightened energy, particularly while performing.

“With acceptance, I’ll say that growing up, I was somebody that was rejected all through childhood because I was born with twelve toes. And that’s how come I got the name Wuieve… yes, I’ve had surgery but it shoots out when my spirit is active. The Wuieve comes alive again,” she said.

Beyond her physical experience, the artiste traced her transition into Afro-spiritual soul music to a deeper sense of purpose, noting that her journey across different genres ultimately led her to embrace her true calling.

“Purpose got me here. You can do a lot of things and you’ll be so good at it but what is in the calling of your soul or your true calling will find you when the time is right,” she explained.

Enam, also known by the tag name Hazdzivodushi—which she interprets as “a singing priestess or goddess with the gift of song”—describes her music as a spiritual tool aimed at healing. She said her craft operates as a form of subliminal messaging designed to influence the subconscious mind and promote psychological well-being.

Drawing from her upbringing in a shrine, she recounted how her great-grandmothers used music and sound to heal the sick, particularly those with mental health challenges—an experience that continues to inspire her work.

“Growing up in the shrine, I watched my great grandmothers use our sound, our Hao to heal people of ailment especially the mental ones,” she said.

The “Modzi” hitmaker also hinted at an upcoming project with Ghanaian rapper Edem, scheduled for release on 1 May 2026, urging fans to anticipate the collaboration while continuing to support her current music.
