The Ghana Para Swimming Association has announced a historic milestone for para sports in Ghana, as the country will, for the first time, be represented at the World Para Swimming Series in Australia.
This breakthrough has been made possible through the leadership and dedication of the Association’s President, Farida Idriss, with two Ghanaian para swimmers — Promise Wonder Atsu Aheto and Bryan Baffour Kwadjo Akoto — set to travel to Australia for international classification and competition at the prestigious event.
The championship also serves as a qualification pathway toward the 2026 Commonwealth Games, marking an important step in Ghana’s journey toward elite international para sport participation.

Their participation represents a breakthrough for Ghana Para Swimming, offering the athletes the opportunity to secure international classification and potentially achieve qualification standards for future global competitions.
