The President, John Dramani Mahama says, his choice of the Ghana Air Force ceremonial uniform for the Military Academy graduation parade today was to honour the men and women of the Air Force who work tirelessly to keep Ghana safe.
This marks his second time wearing a military uniform as Commander-in-Chief, after donning the Ghana Navy’s white ceremonial attire last year.
“Today, I address you in the ceremonial uniform of the Ghana Armed Force. This is to pay respect to the men and women of the Air Force who work tirelessly to keep Ghana safe”, he said.
President Mahama’s appearance at the ceremony held today, January 30 was met with admiration.
In his speech, he emphasized that security is a collective national duty, requiring active involvement from citizens, communities, and government.
He also commended the military high command and entire training staff for their dedication, commitment and sacrifice in transforming the cadets from civilians into officers ready to serve the Republic.
The ceremony, held at the Ghana Military Academy in Teshie, Accra, saw 267 cadet officers commissioned into the Ghana Armed Forces.
